Oakland endeavors to extend eviction moratorium
The topic will be deliberated on Tuesday, May 19th.
For Residential: Extends the local emergency declared on March 9, 2020, until it has been terminated by the City Council.
For Commercial: Until the expiration of the Governor's suspension of state law limitations on local government's exercise of its police power to impose substantive limitations on commercial eviction in Executive Order FN-29-20 and any extension of such suspension. (Extends past May 31 to align with state extension).
