Letter to use in response to rent strikes
Militant tenant groups are spearheading rent strikes, calling upon tenants to refuse to pay rent, with demands that unpaid rent be forgiven. To this group, a statewide moratorium on evictions for non-payment of rent attributable to COVID-19 outbreak is not enough.
When owners and managers encounter tenants who withhold rent in the spirit of protest, we have prepared a letter to communicate with participating tenants.
